Welcome to our site

The current landlord has been running The Gibraltar Castle since December 2002 and in that time has strived to maintain a delicate balance between excellent food whilst still keeping all the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of a traditional country pub.

Be it for a memorable dining experience or just to meet friends old and new for a drink, you are assured of a warm welcome.

To be honest we can only guess as to the age of the Gibraltar Castle. It was first mentioned in local records in 1799, but it is possible that the building predates this by as much as 140 years.

One of the attractions of the Gibraltar is that is has not been trashed by trendy designers, and therefore retains heaps of character. The bar and dining areas have a wealth of military, polo and other assorted memorabilia & antiques.

The pub itself retains many attractive features such as original oak beams & bread oven and a blazing fire in winter with cosy alcoves, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere throughout.
